Dragon Ball Super: Beerus to Boost Battle of Gods in Upcoming Anime
If you thought the weekend was all about the new Dragon Ball Super anime, think again! Alongside the announcement of Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event, we’ve got exciting news about Beerus, the God of Destruction who despises hide-and-seek. He’s set to star in a brand-new anime that will take us back to his origins.
Beerus made his debut in 2013’s Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, where he targeted Goku after discovering that he had defeated Frieza. This encounter led to Goku achieving Super Saiyan God status and established Beerus as a key player in the series.
The new project, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, was unveiled by voice actors Masako Nozawa (Goku), Koichi Yamadera (Beerus), and executive producer Akio Iyoku. This anime aims to revisit the events of Battle of Gods and enhance the original narrative. Iyoku mentioned that the team went back to the original drafts by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, who sadly passed away in 2024. Their goal is to align more closely with Toriyama’s original vision, giving Beerus more depth and presenting him as an even greater challenge for our heroes.
A fresh trailer for the film has confirmed that Beerus will make his appearance in Fall 2026, adding to the anticipation for this reimagined chapter in the Dragon Ball saga.
It’ll be fascinating to see how much refinement and additional power are infused into Dragon Ball Super: Beerus. In the meantime, dive into the Dragon Ball timeline and follow our watching order to keep up with the series.
