Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Showcases Iconic Anime Moves and Extensive Character Customization
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 just dropped a fresh trailer during the latest State of Play Japan, showcasing its signature style and a plethora of customization options. Players can charge up their attacks and unleash iconic Dragon Ball moves, with the camera cutting to the original characters who made those techniques famous. Expect to see Vegeta’s powerful kicks, Hit’s rapid-fire punches, and Android 17’s energy blasts in action.
The trailer invites players to “Create your ultimate Avatar and fight your way through Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.” You can select from six distinct Avatar races, including the newly introduced Android race, and tailor your combat style with various Fighting Styles, Soul Assist, Awoken Skills, Soul Switch, and more. With over 130 characters to learn from, including non-playable ones, you can craft a fighter that suits your preferred playstyle, whether it’s how you move, transform, or unleash attacks. The gameplay highlights these features as the player character shifts between human and alien forms while charging a Kamehameha.
For those new to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, this action RPG is set in a distant future timeline, specifically in Age 1000, which is 148 years after Xenoverse 2 and 150 years post the original Xenoverse. Players can summon legendary figures from the Dragon Ball universe, like Goku and Frieza, and incorporate their moves into their own arsenal. Dimps is back at the helm, having developed the first two entries in the series released in 2015 and 2016.
While excitement is high for the return of this action RPG, some fans are concerned about the new limitation on the Super Saiyan transformation, which now only lasts for a limited time. In previous titles, players could maintain this form for the entire mission. It’ll be interesting to see how this change impacts gameplay when the game launches in 2027.
Limited time as a Super Saiyan? What’s up with that?!
