EA Addresses Iron Man Gameplay Leak: “Not Quite What We Intended”

EA has acknowledged the recent leak of gameplay footage from Motive Studios’ upcoming Iron Man game, although they aren’t ready to share more details just yet. The official social media account for the game stated, “See you when we’re ready.”

The leaked footage, which surfaced online this past week, showcased the iconic hero soaring through the skies in various suits. It also confirmed the presence of characters like Pepper Potts, Obadiah Stane, and Madame Masque in the game.

Given that we haven’t seen any updates on this Iron Man project since EA first teased it back in 2022, this leak is significant. EA recognized its importance by addressing it publicly for the first time on the game’s official social media account.

If you were hoping for an official trailer or a first look at gameplay, though, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. The post humorously noted, “Well, that didn’t go as planned. But now you know, and we’ve got a lot more to show you. See you when we’re ready.”

Unfortunately, the post doesn’t provide any hints about when we might see the game again, only that it will be shared “when it’s ready.” While this might be a bit disappointing, leaks like this often happen outside the developer’s control, giving fans a sneak peek at unfinished content that wasn’t meant for public viewing, and they don’t necessarily indicate that the game is nearing completion.

For instance, in-development footage of Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games leaked in 2023, but it took several more years before we saw actual gameplay. Similarly, GTA 6 has faced numerous gameplay leaks ahead of its official reveal, much to the frustration of its developers.

EA and Motive Studios will reveal more about their Iron Man game when they feel the time is right. Until then, anticipation continues to build. Early footage of Iron Man certainly looks promising.
