Arc Raiders has surpassed 12 million copies sold as of January 12, and Embark CEO Patrick Söderlund confidently states, “you don’t have to be a math professor to realize that the game has done well for us.” However, the specifics regarding the game’s profitability and its influence on Embark’s future plans, including the development of two new titles, remain intriguing.

In an interview, Söderlund discussed Arc Raiders’ success and financials, confirming, “Of course, it’s been very profitable for us.”

When asked about reports suggesting Arc Raiders was developed on a $75 million budget, Söderlund refrained from providing exact figures but noted that this estimate was “not too far off,” clarifying that Embark had not spent “hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Söderlund expressed a mix of emotions regarding the industry’s recent struggles, stating, “our industry has been riddled with layoffs and studio closures for the past, I would say, 24 months,” while highlighting that Embark now enjoys a solid financial foundation.

“We can sustain ourselves for a long time on the revenue generated by Arc Raiders, which provides financial security and job stability for our team,” he added. “We’re expanding our studio, hiring new talent, and looking to enhance both Arc Raiders and The Finals. Additionally, we have two new games in development that we aim to complete in the future.”

Embark has recently unveiled the next significant phase of development: the Arc Raiders’ Escalation roadmap, covering the first four months of 2026. This includes the new Arc Raiders Bird City map modifier for Buried City.

In response to player feedback, Arc Raiders has reduced the Expedition requirement to 3 million coins and allows players to “catch up” on missed skill points from the first Expedition for just 300k each.
