End of the Road for GTA 6 Leaks?
The main hub for the recent wave of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, Cyberleek, has gone dark, with both its website and Telegram channel now offline.
On August 22, it was noted that Cyberleek’s site was no longer accessible. The Telegram channel now displays a message indicating it is unavailable due to copyright infringement. While there hasn’t been an official response from Rockstar Games, it appears their legal actions against the leakers are having an effect.
Cyberleek began sharing new GTA 6 footage on August 18. While the clips haven’t revealed any major spoilers, they have confirmed the return of the 6-star Wanted system and showcased the game’s expansive map. Reports suggest that developers at Rockstar are quite frustrated with this latest leak, especially since they had mandated a return to the office for security reasons following the notorious leaks of 2024, only to see GTA 6 leak again.
In response to the leaks, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has subpoenaed both Microsoft and Discord to help track down the source of the leaks through Cyberleek, which appears to have its own cryptocurrency-related agenda. Take-Two seems to have gathered enough information to take down both the Cyberleek website and its Telegram channel. While some additional footage has surfaced recently, it may be the end of the leaks now that the primary sources are gone.
Despite the leaks, GTA 6 is still set to launch on November 19, with the first official gameplay reveal scheduled for a special showcase on August 27.
