Epic Games Hints at Upcoming Solo Leveling Anime Crossover in Fortnite
It seems like Sung Jin-Woo is gearing up for a surprise visit to Jegu Island—oops, I mean The Golden Coast, as there’s buzz about a collaboration between Solo Leveling and Fortnite.
The battle royale’s social media account on X teased this partnership by summarizing the anime’s storyline. “The weakest Hunter of all mankind. E-rank. No potential. No future…” the post reads. On Instagram Stories, Fortnite’s account posed the intriguing question, “If you were given another path, would you accept?” This text is set against a backdrop inspired by Solo Leveling, complete with a blue aura, hinting at how Jin-Woo acquires his powers.
For those unfamiliar with Jin-Woo and Solo Leveling, here’s the scoop: Solo Leveling is an anime adapted from a popular Korean manhwa by Chugong and artist Jang Sung-Rak. It follows a hunter named Jin-Woo, who lives in a world where mysterious “Gates” link Earth to dungeons teeming with monsters. Certain humans, known as Hunters, awaken with ranked abilities to combat these threats. Jin-Woo, initially the weakest E-rank Hunter, gains a unique power called the “System” after surviving a perilous double dungeon. Unlike other Hunters, he can level up infinitely, grow stronger without limits, and command fallen enemies as his own shadow army.
This aspect of his powers is where the collaboration gets exciting. Alongside skins for Jin-Woo, Fortnite leaker HypeX, who suggests the collab is set for this week, speculates that skins for Beru or Igris—two allies from Jin-Woo’s shadow army—will also be available, along with fellow Hunter Cha Hae-in. Fortnite has a history of anime collaborations (think Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Bleach, etc.), and Epic Games typically finds creative ways to integrate abilities and themes from these franchises into the game. It will be fascinating to see how Jin-Woo’s powerful abilities and the gear he’s acquired are represented in the skins, or if those powers will have any in-game manifestations.
Keep an eye out for the official announcement, as this collaboration with Solo Leveling looks promising. If you haven’t checked it out yet, the first season is solid, but season 2 from last year was so impressive that it made the list of the greatest anime of 2025.
