Exciting New Chainsaw Man Trailer Unveiled for the Assassin Arc at MAPPA Event
Following the massive success of Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc, animation powerhouse MAPPA has announced that it will continue adapting Tatsuki Fujimoto’s hit manga with the upcoming Assassins Arc, set to debut in late 2027. During the festivities for MAPPA’s 15th anniversary, the studio dropped a new teaser for this eagerly awaited sequel, introducing a host of new international characters from the Assassins Arc.
Fans have been speculating whether this next chapter will be another film or if it will return to the episodic format of the first season. As of now, the details remain unclear, as MAPPA has not confirmed in the promotional materials whether the new season will follow an episodic structure. The official website for Assassins Arc does not label it as a movie like Chainsaw Man The Movie – Reze Arc, which could suggest it will be a traditional TV series. More information is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks to provide clarity.
In the manga, the International Assassins Arc spans chapters 53-70. Following Denji’s explosive battle with Reze, which was broadcast on television, the world has become aware of Chainsaw Man’s existence, prompting numerous assassins to converge on Japan with the intent to kill Denji and seize Chainsaw Man’s coveted heart. This arc is poised to elevate the series to new levels of chaos, destruction, and the bizarre elements that fans adore.
During the anniversary livestream, MAPPA also announced a new mobile game featuring characters from Chainsaw Man. The opening video for the game, produced by the studio, features the track “All the Lynch All the Mince” by Maximum the Hormone. The mobile game is currently in development, with a release date yet to be announced.
