Exciting New Pokémon Revealed in Pokémon Pokopia Teaser!

With Bubbly Basin in the rear-view mirror, Pokémon Pokopia is gearing up for its next cozy DLC update. Koei Tecmo and Game Freak have been hinting at this accessory-focused expansion for a while, but the recent Nintendo Direct provided a closer look at what players can expect.

The new trailer showcases a variety of cosmetics, including bows, sunglasses, ribbons, and ties. Notably, the model for the new sunglasses is the beloved water starter from Pokémon Red and Blue, allowing Pokopia players to recreate the iconic Squirtle Squad! The promotional images also hint at additional items like detachable wings, suggesting there may be even more surprises in store.

The footage also revealed some of the new Pokémon joining the charming building game. Players can look forward to welcoming Doduo (Normal-type), Skitty (Normal-type), and Braixen (Fire-type) into their world, with the narrator teasing that there are more creatures yet to be unveiled.

At the end of the trailer, a note cautions players that the second wave of DLC will not introduce a new town. Instead, a new explorable area is being reserved for the third and final part of the Expansion Pass, set to launch sometime in 2027. The more focused second DLC is expected to arrive in late 2026, and players will need to purchase the $34.99 Expansion Pass to access it. This pass not only includes the existing Bubbly Basin DLC, which adds a new underwater area, but also offers a new recipe for dynamic Ditto block prints and 30 rare Pokémetal ingots.

Bubbly Basin launched in early August, and while it didn’t drastically alter the core gameplay, it provided a much-needed spotlight on the often-overlooked fish Pokémon in the series.

Pokémon Pokopia is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2. The game has been praised for its charm and setting, with reviews highlighting its ability to remind players to nurture their world and appreciate the little things, despite its slower pacing and repetitive tasks. The paid expansion pass also promises a wealth of new underwater content for this life simulation experience.
