Exclusive Look at PlayStation’s Cute Lego Astro Bot: Here’s How to Get Yours!

The newly unveiled Lego PlayStation is set to come with a charming bonus. A well-known Lego insider, Brick Tap, has shared an image of the upcoming Astro Bot set, which will reportedly be included for free with every purchase of the PlayStation, while supplies last.

This adorable mascot will feature 276 pieces, complete with a stand that showcases Astro Bot mid-jump. The finished build stands 8 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide, boasting poseable joints and customizable expressions that embody its playful spirit. However, there’s a catch: the only way to snag this little character is by buying the full PlayStation set.

Last week, the Lego PlayStation was officially announced, continuing the Lego Group’s tradition of crafting iconic consoles in brick form. Previous builds have included the Game Boy, NES, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, and more. This set is a “near 1:1 scale” replica of Sony’s original console, featuring 1,911 pieces and priced at $179.99. A functional “Open” button reveals dioramas for classic games like Ape Escape (1999) and Gran Turismo (1997).

The Astro Bot set is expected to be a “gift with purchase” promotion available when buying the PlayStation set directly from the Lego website. This type of limited-time offer has been seen before, and these exclusive items typically aren’t sold separately, which means Astro Bot could quickly become a sought-after collectible.

The announcement of the Lego PlayStation comes at a time when Sony is facing its share of controversies. Earlier in July, the company revealed plans to cease production of physical discs for PlayStation, pushing consumers toward a digital-only future where ownership of games is questionable—Sony has claimed that users do not legally own the digital games they purchase.

Just yesterday, Kojima Studios disclosed that Sony attempted to cancel its upcoming stealth game, Physint, which led to Xbox stepping in to acquire it. Additionally, Sony has faced backlash for laying off most of the team behind Destiny and for investing in unsuccessful live-service games instead of supporting beloved franchises.
