Experience the blend of Diablo and Stardew Valley in this action RPG where you explore a procedurally generated dungeon and return to restore a devastated town.

If there’s one phrase that instantly grabs my attention and expands my gaming wishlist, it’s when someone says a game is ‘like Stardew Valley but…’ We’ve seen it all: Stardew Valley set in the Stone Age, Stardew Valley with a Sailor Moon twist, and even Stardew Valley mixed with a murder mystery. Now, we have Emberville, a game that strikes a delightful balance between Stardew Valley and Diablo.

Emberville has been in the works for some time, and co-creative director and well-known streamer Ben Cassell, also known as CohhCarnage, recently revealed that this pixel-art action-RPG will be launching in Steam Early Access in summer 2026, showcased through a gameplay walkthrough.

“I’m very confident this game is gonna be awesome,” he stated in the video, and the early footage certainly backs that up. We got a glimpse of Emberville’s unique progression system, a variety of jobs and classes, and some engaging life-sim elements.

The core premise of Emberville revolves around your mission to restore the devastated town. You’ll dive into a procedurally generated dungeon that shifts with each visit, battling monsters, collecting resources, and showcasing your combat skills before returning to craft, cook, and socialize in a more peaceful setting.

Cohh also highlighted the player’s home base, which is distinct from the main town and resembles your starting farm in Stardew Valley, featuring a cozy house and an empty field ready for resource gathering. “This is the area where you kind of unleash your creativity,” he explained, mentioning that you can customize your home, cultivate the land, and even dabble in some light automation.

Additionally, it’s been reported that Doug Cockle, known for voicing Geralt in The Witcher series, and Alex Jordan, who voiced Rook in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and provided ‘sex noises’ in Baldur’s Gate 3, will lend their voices to characters in Emberville.

Emberville is set to launch on Steam later this year, with developer Cygnus Cross estimating that it will remain in early access for about a year.
