Experience the chilling survival thriller Fall for free now!
A survival movie doesn’t need a large ensemble cast or a hefty budget to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. There’s something inherently gripping about witnessing a single character battling against overwhelming odds with nowhere to escape. Films like *Buried*, which trapped Ryan Reynolds in a coffin, *127 Hours*, showcasing James Franco’s struggle to escape a canyon, and *All Is Lost*, featuring Robert Redford alone on the vast ocean, exemplify this tension.
One of the latest survival thrillers that fits this mold is now available for free on YouTube. However, it might not be the best choice for those with a fear of heights.
*Fall*, the 2022 survival thriller directed by Scott Mann, will be accessible for free on YouTube starting August 28 at noon EDT, with no subscription or rental fees required.
The story follows best friends Becky and Shiloh, portrayed by Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner, who embark on a daring climb of a remote, abandoned radio tower in the desert. Their mission is to reach the top of the 2,000-foot structure to scatter the ashes of Becky’s late husband, who tragically died in a climbing accident. However, once they reach the summit, the ladder collapses, leaving them stranded on a precarious platform with no straightforward way to descend.
After the ladder gives way, their backpack—containing their water and drone—plummets onto a satellite dish below. With their phones rendered useless by interference and no one nearby to hear their cries for help, Becky and Shiloh resort to increasingly desperate measures to attract attention. As the heat rises and their supplies dwindle, they must face injuries, fatigue, and the ominous presence of vultures circling the tower.
*Fall* received a generally positive reception upon release, currently holding a 79% critics score and a 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have praised its straightforward premise and breathtaking cinematography.
The filmmakers utilized real tower footage for establishing shots, constructing the upper section of the tower on a mountain cliff over 2,000 feet above sea level. Director Scott Mann opted against green screens, allowing Currey and Gardner to perform much of the film amidst genuine wind, light, and open air.
If heights aren’t your thing, *Fall* might just change your perspective by the time the credits roll.
*Fall* is now free to watch, building excitement for *Fall 2: Deadpoint*, which hits theaters on September 2.
A chilling crime thriller is also gaining traction with viewers after a low-key release last year.
