Experience the epic final battle of Avengers: Endgame in Marvel Rivals!
Thanos has a monumental challenge ahead. The latest gameplay reveal for Marvel Rivals showcases the new “Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame” PvE mode, where a staggering 50 players will unite to take on the Mad Titan. Iconic heroes like Captain America and Iron Man will battle against Thanos’ minions, while the formidable villain wields a massive dual-bladed sword capable of taking out foes in an instant. This mode recreates the epic final showdown from Avengers: Endgame, set against a desolate backdrop featuring the ruins of Avengers Tower. It resembles a multiplayer take on Dynasty Warriors.
In a surprising twist, Thanos has been scaled up to Giant-Man size.
While this 50-player PvE mode diverges from Marvel Rivals’ typical six-on-six multiplayer format, it’s a natural progression for the game. Previously, a PvE zombie mode was introduced, allowing four players to fend off a horde reminiscent of Thanos’ army. The game also features an 18-versus-18 player mode and the Times Square Hub, where up to 100 players can congregate. Merging larger-scale multiplayer with PvE is set to unleash a new level of chaos. This mode will launch with the upcoming Season 10.5 update on October 23.
However, the upcoming update marks a significant shift: for the first time in 17 months, the game will not introduce two new heroes in a season. Marvel Rivals has consistently added a new character roughly every month, but for Season 10, only Gorr the God Butcher will join the roster. This decision allows the team to concentrate on the numerous new modes being introduced.
Alongside the 50-player Avengers: Endgame mode, Season 10 has already introduced the “Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Infinity War” mode, where six teams of two compete for upgrades and Infinity Stones. An upcoming Halloween: Night of Illusions event, described as an “interactive puzzle,” is also on the horizon. This season has seen the launch of the God Quarry map and a variety of new skins. After Season 10 concludes, the studio has committed to resuming its rapid pace of releasing approximately one new character each month.
Marvel Rivals is available as a free-to-play title on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version in development.
The next Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to hit theaters on December 18.
The second phase of the lengthy event introduces a new PvE mode.
