Fable Set to Release in Late February Following Delay

Just a few days after moving Fable out of 2026, Microsoft showcased new footage of the highly anticipated RPG at its Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday. The company also confirmed a release date: February 23rd, 2027. However, players who opt for the Premium Edition will enjoy early access starting February 18th.

The trailer presented at the showcase follows a detailed gameplay overview released earlier this year. From what has been revealed, the new Fable seems poised to capture the essence of the beloved original trilogy, featuring its signature fantasy RPG setting and a healthy dose of British humor. Upon release, it will be available on Xbox, PC, and PS5 simultaneously.

In a blog post on Sunday, Microsoft also introduced the game’s cast, highlighting Hayley Atwell as the antagonist, Isabel.

Fable, developed by Playground Games, known for the Forza Horizon series, has been in development for some time. Microsoft first announced the game in July 2020, promising a “new beginning” for the franchise. A first look at Fable was unveiled in 2023, and a year later, the game was initially slated for a 2025 release. However, it was subsequently delayed to 2026, and then pushed back again in late May.
