Fallout 4 for Switch 2 may launch soon, but it appears Bethesda is opting for a less favorable code-in-box format instead of Game-Key Cards.

It seems that release dates for two titles from Xbox Game Studios on the Nintendo Switch 2 have leaked ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.

Potential spoilers for the Nintendo Direct may be on the horizon.

Interestingly, one of the strongest third-party supporters for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been a former rival: Microsoft. With titles like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 launching last year and upcoming releases such as South of Midnight, Fallout 4, and Indiana Jones and The Great Circle slated for 2026, it was a safe bet that Xbox Game Studios would feature in today’s showcase. However, we might already know what they’re bringing.

According to Dealabs reporter Bilbilkun, who has a solid track record of accurate leaks, Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are expected to hit the Switch 2 this spring—at least in physical form. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set for release on May 12, 2026, priced at $69.99, likely as a Game-Key Card release.

Fallout 4 will be the first to launch, arriving on April 28, 2026, for $59.99. Unfortunately, it appears Microsoft has chosen a code-in-box format for this RPG, rather than a Game-Key card. On the same day, the already-released Skyrim Anniversary Edition will also see a code-in-box release for the Switch 2.

Since these dates are specified for physical copies, there’s a possibility that Fallout 4 could have its digital version released first, potentially leading to a surprise drop during today’s direct. Only time will tell.

In just under seven months, the Nintendo Switch 2 has already surpassed the Wii U’s lifetime sales, with over 17 million units sold.
