Fallout Showrunner Clarifies: Mr. House Twist Leaves Room for Multiple New Vegas Endings to Remain Valid
Prime Video’s live-action Fallout series has ventured into the world of New Vegas, the iconic setting from the sixth installment of the beloved post-apocalyptic franchise. New Vegas is known for its diverse range of endings, but the show has chosen to focus on just one of these paths.
While a specific ending has been established for Fallout’s second season, co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet reassures fans that the series is not meant to overwrite the other endings from New Vegas or claim a definitive conclusion for the game.
“It felt to us that a version of him powered by cold fusion would represent the ultimate incarnation of Robert House,” Robertson-Dworet explains, discussing the character’s development, which is directly lifted from the game.
“As someone fascinated by robotics and non-biological versions of himself, it made perfect sense that he would have developed this ultimate version,” she adds. “I’ve always viewed it as a way to honor the various player experiences while still showcasing that Robert House had this other version of himself, which he was always prepared to create, needing only the diode.”
Mr. House plays a pivotal role in Fallout: New Vegas, leveraging his immense wealth to exert control over the region. He is crucial to one of the game’s many endings, none of which are officially considered canonical, allowing players to explore unique conclusions based on their choices and the factions they align with.
With only two episodes remaining in Fallout’s second season, set to premiere on January 28 and February 4, fans can look forward to more exciting developments.
