Fans Go Wild Over the Comeback of TV’s Most Notorious Cursed Show
As a millennial member of the LGBTQ+ community who once chased a music education degree, *Glee* was a pivotal show for me during its run on Fox from 2009 to 2015. For those who missed it, *Glee* might have seemed like just a group of musical theater enthusiasts belting out the latest pop hits, but for fans, it was so much more. Sure, it had its share of musical numbers, but it also delivered a wild mix of satire and heartfelt drama, tackling social issues with a blend of humor that was often irreverent and sometimes controversial.
Now, it looks like the show is making a comeback, with some of the original cast set to return in a new series on Disney+ and Hulu. I can’t help but wonder how relevant it will feel, considering the original series was sharp in addressing contemporary topics and featuring current music. If the new season was filmed and packaged before its streaming debut, some jokes and song selections might come off as a bit outdated by the time we see them. Regardless, the online banter is already heating up, as both fans and critics are known for their sharp wit.
The baby that Quinn gave birth to in season one of *Glee* would be 16 years old today. Notice how God’s timing is always right.

I can’t wait for Chappell Roan week, new Taylor Swift week, them to sing “Stupid Song” by Olivia Rodrigo, a week where someone gets outed as a conservative and they sing “Choosin Texas,” a sombr week, and finally a Bad Bunny week with Mr. Schue singing “Titi Me Preguntó.”

You’re cheering. An Israeli and Palestinian student are gonna sing “What Is This Feeling” from *Wicked* at each other and you’re cheering.

Rachel Zegler, you’re about to get an important phone call.

Can’t wait for the episode when Rachel does something wildly impulsive that backfires, regrets it by the last act, and closes out the final scene with “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift. “It’s me. Hi, I’m the problem, it’s me,” while looking in the mirror. Hook it to my veins.

What the *Glee* reboot will actually look like remains a mystery. The original series wrapped up with an epilogue set in 2020, conveniently ignoring the pandemic, so we have a general idea of where the characters ended up. Currently, only Lea Michele, Heather Morris, and Chord Overstreet are confirmed to return, while others, like Chris Colfer, have expressed some hesitation but remain open to the possibility.
