Fans Raise Eyebrows Over Yoshi Scene in New Super Mario Galaxy Movie Teaser: “Someone Should Be Held Accountable”

The latest teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has sparked some debate among fans, particularly over one notable mistake: Yoshi swallowing a Chain Chomp.

“Yoshi can’t eat a Chain Chomp, canonically,” pointed out a user on Reddit. “I hope someone got in trouble for that error.”

Chain Chomps, those menacing black balls with sharp white teeth, are part of Bowser’s lineup and have appeared in various Yoshi titles, including Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. While Yoshi is known for his ability to gobble up many enemies, Chain Chomps are definitely off the menu.

On a brighter note, fans are enjoying the dynamic between Toad and Yoshi showcased in the teaser, which seems to start on a somewhat shaky note. “It’s giving Puss and Donkey from Shrek 2,” another fan commented. “Toad’s not going to like Yoshi, but by the end of the movie, we’ll probably see a dramatic moment with Toad riding into the final battle on Yoshi.”

In addition to Yoshi, it seems we can look forward to some new characters in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. “Oh, yes, there are,” Mario’s voice actor mentioned when asked about new characters in the sequel.

“I’m not allowed to reveal too much, but yes, there are some really incredible ones… Some have already been shown in the trailer – like Rosalina and Bowser Jr. – and there are even a couple more that aren’t in the trailer that fans should be excited about.”

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to hit theaters on April 3.
