Fans speculate on thrilling reveals for the upcoming Warhammer 2026 preview.
We’re just two days into 2026, and it seems fans have already pieced together what to expect from the upcoming New Year Warhammer Preview Show.
After dissecting the teaser for the live announcements, there’s a strong belief that we’ll see a refresh for the Warhammer 40K Custodes, Prince Yriel’s Aeldari Corsairs, a revamp of the Ossiarch Bonereapers for Age of Sigmar, some Iron Warriors content, and a Ravenwing reveal. If these predictions hold true, the Preview Show on January 16 is set to be packed with exciting updates. I might need to set aside my backlog of the best board games to dive into all this new hobby content.
While some of these hints are clear from the teaser video, others required a bit of sleuthing. For instance, a waitress passing by with a plate of golden bananas topped with a red plume clearly evokes the Custodes, the Emperor’s elite bodyguards. Additionally, a man in a pirate hat alongside a woman with elf ears strongly suggests the arrival of the Aeldari Corsairs, especially with the ongoing ‘500 Worlds’ storyline reintroducing pirate Huron Blackheart. The woman also carries a plush Blood Bowl ball, hinting at the potential for High, Wood, or Dark Elves to storm the Blood Bowl pitch this year.
In another intriguing moment, a glowing chicken bone is placed on a plate, which has sparked speculation among fans like @ElecMan24, who hopes this symbolizes the return of the Ossiarch Bonereapers. Given that they lack a Battletome for the latest Age of Sigmar edition, their appearance in 2026 seems likely.
As for the other two hints, @Corax92 spotted the “Iron Warriors badge,” which I completely overlooked as a Chaos enthusiast. It wouldn’t be surprising to see more from this faction in Horus Heresy, especially with the attention they’ve received in the new edition. Meanwhile, @Dieregorn deserves kudos for catching a tiny reference—a Ravenwing logo on a purity seal. With a Dark Angels Codex already available for this edition, it seems plausible that existing models might get a refresh. Who’s up for a new Sammael and possibly updated Outriders? As a Dark Angels fan, I’m definitely excited about that prospect.
We’ll find out soon enough; the New Year Warhammer Preview Show is set for January 16, 2026, at 2:30 PM ET / 11:30 AM PT / 7:30 PM GMT.
