Fender Launches Wireless Headphones with Durable, Replaceable Battery
Fender Audio, known for its iconic guitars, has unveiled its first wireless headphones, the Mix, at CES 2026. These headphones stand out with their remarkable battery life, a modular design that allows users to swap ear cups and headbands for different colors, and a focus on durability with an easily accessible battery for replacement.
Launching this year, the Mix headphones will come in two color options: olympic white and skyscraper black, priced at $299.99. This price point is significantly lower than Sony’s flagship WH-1000XM6 headphones, which retail for $450. While we haven’t yet tested the Mix’s hybrid active noise cancellation to see how it stacks up against Sony’s leading ANC, Fender Audio takes the lead in battery performance. The Mix headphones boast up to 52 hours of playback with ANC activated and an impressive 100 hours without it, compared to Sony’s 30 hours with ANC and 40 hours without.
Beneath the ear cup cushions, the Mix features 40mm “hyper-efficient Graphene drivers” along with some clever design elements. One side has a removable panel for easy battery swaps, while the other side includes a storage compartment for a USB-C wireless transmitter. The headphones can connect to devices via USB-C or wirelessly using Bluetooth 5.3, supporting SBC and AAC codecs. With the included transmitter, users can enjoy lossless 96kHz/24bit LHDC streaming, as well as low-latency LC3 and Auracast wireless modes.
If the battery runs out, you can still use a 3.5mm audio cable. Plus, a quick 15-minute charge can provide up to eight hours of playback, or nearly double that with ANC turned off.
