FIFA Returns with a New Game Exclusively on Netflix
For years, EA Sports dominated the FIFA soccer gaming scene, but that era came to a close in 2023. Now, FIFA is making a comeback in the gaming world, thanks to a collaboration between Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive, who have announced a new officially branded FIFA soccer game set to launch in 2026. This untitled game will be accessible through the Netflix app on both iOS and Android devices, with a release planned for “this summer,” perfectly timed for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The announcement describes the game as a “newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game,” though specific details remain under wraps.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “This major collaboration is a key milestone in FIFA’s commitment to innovation in the football gaming space, which aspires to reach billions of football fans of all ages everywhere in the world and will be redefining the pure notion of simulation games.” He added, “Our reimagined game truly marks the beginning of a new era of digital football.”
This FIFA partnership is the latest move from Netflix Games, which has also recently added titles like WWE 2K and Grand Theft Auto to its lineup. Meanwhile, Netflix’s parent company has been making headlines as well, having reached an agreement to acquire Warner Bros. for $82 billion. Delphi Interactive, a California-based studio led by Casper Alexander Daugaard and former Zynga executive Andy Kleinman, is also collaborating with IO Interactive on the upcoming 007: First Light. More details about the new FIFA soccer game are expected to emerge in 2026.
