Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Trailer Unveils Exciting New Details

We’ve finally caught our first look at the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy. The latest footage unveiled the game’s official title: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.

This reveal came during the Summer Game Fest stream, which packed in over two hours of exciting game announcements. Among the highlights were glimpses of a new Resident Evil and Stellar Blade, but Final Fantasy 7 Revelation stood out as one of the biggest surprises.

The trailer not only showcased the title but also teased what’s in store for the final chapter. Players will have the chance to pilot the Highwind airship across Revelation’s expansive world. You can leap from the ship and parachute down seamlessly to the ground. Expect to explore iconic locations from Final Fantasy 7, including Wutai.

According to Matt Mercer, the voice of the enigmatic Vincent Valentine, the battle system from the previous installments has been “perfected.” This time, Vincent will be a playable character armed with a rifle, while Cid joins the team wielding a spear. You’ll need their skills to take on the Weapons—massive creatures born from the Planet itself. The trailer wrapped up with a jaw-dropping shot of a colossal creature rising from the ocean.

The reveal of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation wasn’t entirely unexpected. Earlier this year, director Naoki Hamaguchi hinted that development was progressing faster than fans might think, stating, “I believe that at this point the game is playable, technically, but we are still trying to polish it so it is at a quality where we can deliver it to our players.”

While an official release date for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation hasn’t been announced, it is set to launch in spring 2027. The game is expected to be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
