Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Cast Shares Emotional Moments in Final Recording Sessions

Most of the cast from Final Fantasy VII Revelation has been voicing these beloved characters for nearly a decade. So, it’s no surprise that as this long journey nears its conclusion, some actors found it hard to keep their emotions in check during recording sessions. At a panel during New York City Comic Con featuring many of the trilogy’s key performers, footage from the final recording sessions was shared. While there were plenty of lighthearted moments, a few cast members were clearly feeling the weight of the occasion.

Briana White and Britt Baron, who have voiced Aerith and Tifa in the English versions across all three games, were seen shedding tears during these last sessions. Fortunately, the video wasn’t all somber; like most Final Fantasy games, it included its fair share of humor. If you’ve ever wanted to hear Sephiroth declare that his favorite Doritos flavor is Cool Ranch, that moment is in there too.

Travis Willingham, stepping into the role of the game’s iconic villain due to scheduling conflicts with original actor Tyler Hoechlin, was also featured behind the scenes, bringing the character to life for the first time. Being in the room for the panel brought a wave of nostalgia, as it’s a unique experience to follow a series for so many years, making it a significant part of your life, and then having to say goodbye.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set to wrap up Square Enix’s Remake trilogy on April 8. However, it remains uncertain how closely it will stick to the original storyline, especially since the first two games have taken some creative liberties since their release in 2020. It appears that Aerith will continue to play a significant role, as White is still involved despite the events that unfolded at the end of Rebirth.
