First Gameplay Video Unveils Shion’s Surprising Abilities in Overwatch

Blizzard Entertainment recently teased Overwatch fans with a glimpse of the new hero, Shion. While details about her abilities were scarce, a new gameplay trailer has finally unveiled what this Omnic Hashimoto clan gangster can do. And trust me, you won’t want to miss her on that bike.

Shion wields a pair of intricately designed Kira Pistols, allowing her to fire them individually, reminiscent of a mix between Reaper and Cassidy’s firing styles. Alternatively, she can unleash a powerful multi-shot Execution spray capable of taking down even a Reinhardt. Additionally, Shion boasts a cinematic quick-dodge move to evade incoming attacks. Her ultimate ability propels her toward enemies in a spinning dash, delivering a shocking blow to anyone in her path.

One of the most exciting aspects is that Shion will actually utilize the Akira-inspired motorcycle featured in her reveal trailer during combat. The gameplay shows her riding through Overwatch’s new Tokyo map, launching her bike at foes. In one scene, she ghost-rides the bike straight at a Cassidy, knocking him out. In another, she sends it soaring into the air at Pharah, performing a kick-jump off the motorcycle.

Following her gameplay reveal, Blizzard provided a full breakdown of Shion’s hero kit.

Shion marks the 52nd hero in Overwatch and is the latest addition to the Damage role. She is also the seventh hero introduced this year as part of the game’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Earlier this year, characters like Domina (Tank), Anran (Damage), Emre (Damage), Jetpack Cat (Support), Mizuki (Support), and Sierra (Damage) were added, with three more heroes set to join the roster before the year ends.

Shion will officially enter the game on June 16, coinciding with the launch of season 3, titled Into the Tiger’s Den.

Overwatch is available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
