First Glimpse of Henry Cavill as a Battle-Scarred Hero in the Highlander Reboot by John Wick Creator
Henry Cavill has given fans a sneak peek at Chad Stahelski’s reboot of Highlander, and he’s looking incredibly battle-hardened.
In the images shared, Cavill’s portrayal of Connor MacLeod exudes a rugged charm, complete with sweat and a stylish leather coat that adds to his cool factor.
“This has been quite the journey for me, which I’ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it’s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy,” Cavill wrote in his post.
Interestingly, his look differs significantly from a recent Instagram post that many speculated was a teaser for Highlander, as his hair appears much shorter now.
This project has been in the works for a while, with filming now pushed to 2026. Alongside Cavill, the cast includes his Man of Steel co-star Russell Crowe and Djimon Hounsou, who starred with Crowe in Gladiator. It’s a notable reunion for these actors.
There are rumors that Dave Bautista may take on the role of the villainous Kurgan, though this has yet to be confirmed. WWE star Drew McIntyre is set to portray Connor’s brother, Angus MacLeod.
Stahelski, known for directing the John Wick series, is at the helm of this reboot. “We’re bringing it forward from the early 1500s in the Highlands to present-day New York and Hong Kong, and seeing how it goes,” Stahelski has previously teased about the film. “There’s big opportunity for action. There’s a chance to play a character that not a lot of people get to play. And it’s a bit of a love story, but not how you think. On John Wick, I learned a lot on how to bend the storytelling a little.”
Highlander currently does not have a release date. In the meantime, there are plenty of exciting upcoming movies to keep an eye on for your watchlist.
