First Trailer Released for Michael B. Jordan’s Thomas Crown Affair

The announcement of Michael B. Jordan’s remake of the heist thriller The Thomas Crown Affair first surfaced over ten years ago, and now, Amazon MGM Studios has finally dropped the first trailer for the film. The anticipation has definitely paid off.

Set to hit theaters on March 5, 2027, the movie features Jordan in the lead role as Thomas Crown, a billionaire with a penchant for art theft, driven more by the thrill than by financial gain. After a painting is stolen during a heist that goes awry, Crown finds himself in a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse with an insurance investigator, played by Adria Arjona. As their chase unfolds, romance blossoms. This film marks Jordan’s second directorial effort, following his work on Creed 3 in 2023.

The trailer oozes style, showcasing Crown’s criminal escapades in a way that mirrors his own glamorous perception. Expect to see stunning visuals, sleek cars, elegant attire, and breathtaking landscapes. Jordan channels his inner Bond, and it’s undeniably effective. Fans of Christopher Nolan’s often-overlooked film Tenet will likely be thrilled to see Kenneth Branagh in the mix, along with an exhilarating bungee jumping scene off a skyscraper.

This marks the second remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. The original, released in 1968, starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, focusing more on bank robbery than art theft. The film was reimagined in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo, introducing Crown as an art thief, a theme that Jordan’s version seems to embrace fully.

Joining Jordan and Arjona in the cast are Lily Gladstone and Danai Gurira, among others, promising a strong supporting lineup.
