Fortnite announces upcoming collaboration with Bleach.

Fortnite and Bleach are teaming up again, just eight months after the anime made its debut in the game. Epic Games has teased an exciting new Bleach crossover for the battle royale, set to drop later this week, featuring two fresh characters.

Last December, Fortnite welcomed Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Orihime Inoue into its roster. Players had the option to snag them individually or grab the Bleach Bundle, which included all four characters and their unique cosmetics for 4,000 V-Bucks. These cosmetics have made a few returns to the store, and each time they do, fans hope for new Bleach-themed items to accompany them.

It looks like those hopes are about to be realized, as a new wave of skins is on the horizon thanks to the collaboration with Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. On August 4, the official German Fortnite account shared a YouTube short hinting at the arrival of two character skins, Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara, with the intriguing caption, “Don’t blink. We’re expecting you.”

The teaser wraps up with the date August 8, indicating when these Bleach skins will hit Fortnite. The Item Shop resets at 2 a.m. CEST in Germany, which is why the skins will be available on Saturday. For players in the United States, the Bleach cosmetics will go live on August 7 at 8 p.m. ET.

While it seems this collaboration will focus solely on cosmetics without any gameplay features tied to Bleach, there’s a good chance the original wave of Bleach skins will also make a comeback, allowing players to purchase them for the first time in three months. Fingers crossed that Fortnite will eventually host a full crossover event with Bleach, similar to its past collaborations with other anime series like Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, and Attack on Titan.
