Fortnite brings back The Simpsons with a twist: introducing a cartoon John Wick!

The Simpsons are making a comeback in Fortnite this week with an updated Springfield, bringing back a variety of cartoon-themed loot along with some fresh quality-of-life enhancements. In an unexpected twist, the event will also feature a special guest: John Wick, reimagined in the iconic Simpsons style.

Epic Games confirmed that Keanu Reeves’ legendary assassin will join the Fortnite roster as a Simpsons character. New promotional artwork for The Simpsons Reload event showcases the Baba Yaga himself parachuting into Springfield on a glider crafted from — you guessed it — guns. It’s a wild crossover that leaves us both excited and puzzled.

Alongside Mr. Wick, a Simpsons-themed version of The Continental Hotel from the John Wick universe will be introduced in the revamped Springfield map. This iteration is called The Confidential, which fans may remember from the 32nd season of The Simpsons. In the episode “The Last Barfighter,” The Confidential serves as a secret meeting spot for Springfield’s bartenders, including Moe, who gather to share tales from their patrons. The hotel is managed by a character named Artemis, voiced by Ian McShane, who also portrays Winston Scott, the manager of the New York Continental in the John Wick films.

John Wick has made previous appearances in The Simpsons as well. In the season 35 episode “Iron Marge,” Bart is seen watching a John Wick film where the hitman indulges in a treat at an ice cream shop called Assassins Only Frozen Treats. After enjoying a gelato, Wick finds himself under attack and cleverly dispatches his assailant using a tub of Magic Shell and a sugar cone shiv. In this episode, Wick is voiced by Hank Azaria instead of Reeves.

The return of The Simpsons in Fortnite will also bring back a host of familiar loot, including weapons like the Cobalt Slingshot, Mr. Blasty, the Five-Gun, and the Cartoon Chainsaw. Additionally, players can look forward to a new weapon: the Tactical Assault Rifle.

Lastly, John Wick will be featured as one of Fortnite’s collectible Sprites. This John Wick Sprite captures the serious and minimalist essence of Reeves’ character while adding a playful twist with expressive uwu eyes, creating an adorably grim aesthetic.

The Simpsons Reload event in Fortnite kicks off on July 30.
