Fortnite Claps Back at Grinch’s Criticism of the Game

With Christmas just around the corner, one of the highlights at Universal Studios is the chance to meet The Grinch. While waiting in line to see Whoville’s favorite grouch can take over five hours, the allure of snagging a photo and a brief chat with this iconic character is hard to resist. The interactions are typically brief, allowing for a quick question and a snapshot before moving on. Recently, Fortnite creative developer Immature asked the Grinch if he played Fortnite. In true Grinch fashion, he expressed his disdain for the game, claiming it had become dull without his presence. “I used to, but then it got boring. Very boring. But I know they’re always releasing new skins and characters. I heard that [Marty] McFly guy is in there now. I heard Eminem was in there—there’s a bunch of new things. When are they going to put me in there? If I was in the game, it would be fantastic, but since I’m not…” Given the vast array of character skins available, it’s surprising that the Grinch hasn’t made an appearance yet. Fortnite quickly responded, saying, “No promises. But you’re at least gonna have to get into the Christmas spirit first, Mr. Grinch.”

Currently, Fortnite’s Winterfest is in full swing, bringing a treasure trove of new collaboration cosmetics to the item shop. Three exciting new collaborations have already been announced: Harry Potter, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Bleach. The Harry Potter collab will feature Fortnite characters dressed in Hogwarts uniforms, while Bleach is set to introduce four character-based skins. The SpongeBob collaboration includes the Patty Wagon as a vehicle cosmetic, with reports suggesting that SpongeBob and Patrick will also make appearances as sidekicks. Additionally, the Back to the Future collaboration from the current battle pass is expanding on December 23, adding a Doc Brown skin and a DeLorean time machine car skin, which will be free for players who already own it in Rocket League. Winterfest will also enhance existing music collaborations, with Hatsune Miku and Sabrina Carpenter each getting holiday-themed skins and new jam tracks. There are also rumors of potential collaborations with Home Alone and Batman Beyond, as there’s still some room left in the Winterfest schedule.
