Fortnite unveils new roadmap ahead of the season’s first major update.
Players have had some time to dive into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, and now it’s time for the season’s first significant update. Developer Epic Games has unveiled the roadmap for the week, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the Fortnite update arriving on September 3.
Fortnite Override kicked off on August 20, introducing a wealth of new content, including Battle Pass cosmetics, themed landmarks, and fresh items and weapons. With players now familiar with the new features, Epic Games is set to roll out the first update of the season to revitalize the experience and provide more content to explore.
A teaser from Fortnite’s Status account on X hinted that the upcoming update will bring both new and vaulted weapons from past seasons, along with never-before-seen Sprites, additional loot hacks, and overrides. The hacking mechanic is central to this season’s theme, and it’s clear that Epic Games aims to highlight everything distinctive about Chapter 7 Season 4. Recently, Fortnite shared even more details about what’s on the horizon with the roadmap for the second week of the season.
As in the previous week, Monday will be Cheat Code Day, while Saturday will feature Power Hours. On Monday, players can easily discover better Cheat Codes and earn double Sprite XP and Sprite Dust. Saturday will see increased spawn rates for specific sprite variants, the 1Up token, and portable extractors. Instead of Thursday being New Sprite Day, it’s Update Day — here’s what’s on the way:
Leaker Blortzen has indicated that the assets for the vaulted Typhoon Blade have been updated, hinting at its potential return in this upcoming update. However, with Sora’s blade expected to debut in the next update as part of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts collaboration, the Typhoon Blade might simply be getting a reskin as the Keyblade. If that’s the case, Epic Games has opted to keep it under wraps rather than include it in the roadmap.
The next Fortnite update is set for Thursday, September 3, with downtime anticipated to begin at either 2 or 4 a.m. ET.
