Fortnite V-Bucks Set for Price Increase
After raking in an astonishing $6.01 billion in 2025, it may come as a surprise that the price of Fortnite’s in-game currency, V-Bucks, is set to increase once again. The announcement came through a blog post, where it was stated, “The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot, and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills.”
Starting March 19, players can expect the following price hikes (actual amounts may vary by region):
V-Bucks are essential for players looking to snag cosmetics like skins and emotes from the shop, as well as for accessing the Battle Pass. Speaking of the Battle Pass, it has also seen some changes. Previously priced at 1,000 V-Bucks, players could earn that amount back. Now, the pass will cost 800 V-Bucks, with the opportunity to earn back that same amount. However, the option to earn an additional 500 V-Bucks through Bonus Rewards after completing the Battle Pass has been removed. There’s no word yet on whether other cosmetic items will see price adjustments.
As a silver lining, players making purchases in Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys, and other titles will receive 20% back in Epic Rewards when transactions are made through the Epic Games Store or Epic’s payment system on platforms like Android, PC, iOS, and the web. These Epic Rewards can be used in Fortnite and other Epic games.
This news may be disappointing for Fortnite players looking for more bang for their buck. With the updates rolling out on March 19, fans have a window to grab V-Buck gift cards and redeem them at their current value for future use, as Epic has confirmed that existing V-Buck gift card holders will not be impacted.
