Fortnite Welcomes Kingdom Hearts and Cyberpunk Edgerunners in New Update
The latest update for Fortnite Override has finally dropped! After a brief delay, the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts crossover has arrived in the Battle Royale, and there’s plenty more to dive into. With downtime now behind us, players can jump back onto the island and explore all the fresh content added to Fortnite.
The standout feature of update v42.20 is the Kingdom Hearts collaboration, which fans have been eagerly awaiting for weeks. Sora is now available in the Item Shop for 1,800 V-Bucks, while Roxas, Kairi, and Riku can be snagged for 1,600 V-Bucks each. For those looking to grab them all, a bundle is available for a discounted price of 4,500 V-Bucks, which includes a total of 20 Kingdom Hearts-themed items for your locker.
In addition to the cosmetics, the Kingdom Key has been introduced as the latest melee weapon, allowing players to unleash devastating attacks with its powerful combos. To recover health after taking damage, players should stock up on Sea Salt Ice Cream, which provides health and shields to both the user and their teammates. Both items are now part of the standard Battle Royale loot pool, but they’ll be more plentiful during the Kingdom Hearts Power Hours. On Saturday, Sept. 19, players will start matches with the Kingdom Key and Sea Salt Ice Cream in their inventory. The Power Hour event runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET and again from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
The Edgerunners collaboration isn’t fully live yet; while cosmetics aren’t available in the Item Shop just yet, players can still acquire Rebecca’s Guns by defeating the Adam Smash boss. These weapons deal significant damage, especially the Exotic variant, which features ricocheting bullets.
These are just a couple of the exciting collaborations making their way into Fortnite with this update. Players can also expect items inspired by Persona 5, Pac-Man, and Ironmouse.
But it’s not just collab items that have been added. The latest loot hacks allow players to use Sprite Dust to unlock even more weapons and items this week. New loot hacks include the Hyperburst Pistol, Mammoth Pistol, Reaper Sniper Rifle, Deadeye DMR, Flowberry Fizz, and Rocket Ram. Players can gather more Sprite Dust by extracting sprites.
Speaking of sprites, three new ones have been introduced on the island. Collecting 30 of them will reward players with the free Pixel Polli skin. Keep an eye out for the Pond Sprite, Crash Bandicoot Sprite, and Blinky Sprite while exploring the new content.
Fortnite may have even more Square Enix characters on the horizon!
