Fortnite’s exciting Kingdom Hearts collaboration reportedly faces a last-minute delay, according to leaks.

Chapter 7 Season 4 has introduced iconic video game characters to Fortnite for the first time, and players are loving every moment of it. This season allows gamers to unlock characters from beloved franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog, Spyro, and Crash Bandicoot. Sora was anticipated to be the next addition, but according to various leakers, his arrival in Fortnite has been slightly postponed.

When Chapter 7 Season 4 launched, patch notes were released to inform players about what to expect from Fortnite Override. These notes confirmed several previously leaked collaborations, including Persona 5 and Kingdom Hearts. The excitement peaked when the key art in the blog post showcased Sora wielding his Keyblade, with the announcement that it would be available “later in the season.”

The Keyblade was expected to debut with the first update of Chapter 7 Season 4 (v42.10). Leaker Blortzen indicated that assets for the Typhoon Blade had been updated in the game files, hinting that the Keyblade would soon be available as a reskin of the Typhoon Blade. However, with patch v42.10 going live on Thursday, there has been no official word on the Kingdom Hearts collaboration, leaving fans eagerly awaiting news.

Multiple Fortnite leakers suggest that the Kingdom Hearts collaboration has indeed been delayed. The event has been fully decrypted, indicating that the Fortnite release was initially scheduled for this weekend, as vehicle cosmetics between the two games are interchangeable. Dataminers now believe the collaboration has been pushed back to the next update, meaning fans will have to wait until Thursday, September 17, for their Kingdom Hearts goodies in Fortnite.

On a positive note, many of the Kingdom Hearts cosmetics set to arrive in Rocket League, and subsequently Fortnite, have been revealed. This gives players a sneak peek at the customization options they can look forward to for their in-game vehicles.

It’s about time we see these characters in Fortnite!
