Fortnite’s latest update introduces new Sprites and a nostalgic ‘Big Head’ mode.

The first update (v42.10) for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 has dropped, and it’s time for players to dive back into the action. Get ready to jump from the Battle Bus onto the Battle Royale island, as this patch introduces a host of new sprites, overrides, and an array of weapons to keep gameplay fresh.

Once players land on the island, they’ll discover several new weapons available as loot hacks, including Overwatch’s Caduceus Staff, Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion’s Combat Kit, the Wrecker Revolver, Deadeye Assault Rifle, and the Holo Twister Assault Rifle. These weapons can be unlocked using Sprite Dust, adding an exciting twist to the loot pool.

While these new weapons are sure to impact the metagame, the introduction of new sprites like Onigiri, X-Ray, Mega Man, and Overshield might create even more significant shifts in gameplay dynamics.

Additionally, three new match overrides are now available for players to activate on the island: the Big Head override, which enlarges everyone’s heads; the Prop Hunt override, allowing players to transform into props when crouching and remaining still; and the Action Hero override, which enables players to experience hangtime while aiming down sights in midair.

This update isn’t limited to the Battle Royale mode. Fortnite OG has rolled out a fresh Battle Pass inspired by Chapter 1 Season X, and fans of Lego Fortnite Odyssey can look forward to a wealth of Lego Batman content.

The journal has been refreshed with new missions that assist the Dark Knight in tracking down stolen parts of Gotham City hidden throughout the Lego Fortnite Odyssey island. Players will have access to a variety of bat-gear, including the Batmobile, to aid in their quest. To locate Gotham City spots, players can follow the Bat Signal and take down henchmen to support Batman.

This event runs until October 15, giving players the chance to recruit Lego Batman as a villager at the end. However, this means the next Lego Fortnite Pass won’t feature Batman themes, as the current pass has been extended until October 31. On a positive note, the Batman Caped Crusader pack is set to return on September 17, offering players a chance to snag themed cosmetics for the event.
