Future Assassin’s Creed Titles: A Look at What’s in Development
There are currently a few upcoming Assassin’s Creed titles in development, and they promise to be quite exciting. Among these projects is a new game rumored to take place during the Witch trials, alongside a mobile-exclusive experience and more.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard significant updates, with the latest release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, expected to receive more content in the future as outlined in its roadmap, which has already introduced the Claws of Aawaj expansion. The latest RPG set in Japan coincided with the launch of the Animus Hub (formerly known as Assassin’s Creed Infinity), and it will be interesting to see how this influences future titles.
Recent news indicates that a new studio formed by Ubisoft and Tencent is already working on games in the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises, which certainly grabs our attention. With other confirmed Ubisoft titles on the horizon, it’s a bustling time for the studio. For a recap of all the new games in the stealthy series, here’s an overview of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed titles.

Assassin’s Creed Jade is set to be the first truly open-world Assassin’s Creed game for mobile devices. Ubisoft aims to create an authentic Assassin’s Creed experience, fully optimized for touch controls. Set in China in 215 BCE, players will be able to parkour across the Great Wall.
Initially revealed as Codename Jade, it was officially titled Assassin’s Creed Jade at GamesCom 2023. This game will also allow players to create their own assassin from scratch, adding a personal touch. While Jade is expected to launch after Shadows in 2025, a specific release date has yet to be announced.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is being described as “a very different type of Assassin’s Creed game.” Details are scarce, but we know it’s being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the team behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with Clint Hocking, former creative director of Watch Dogs Legion, leading the project.
The teaser trailer and the game’s codename suggest that Codename Hexe will take place in 16th-century Europe during the notorious witch trials. This could lead to a unique, subversive open-world RPG experience, and fans are eager for some experimentation within the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Ubisoft has partnered with Netflix for a broad collaboration, which includes a Netflix Assassin’s Creed series that was officially greenlit for 2025. Initially, Jed Stuart was set to be the showrunner, known for his work on iconic action films like Die Hard, but he left the project in 2023. Now, executive producers Robert Patino, known for Westworld, and David Weiner, who worked on the Halo adaptation, are at the helm. Alongside the series, three mobile games are also in development for Netflix’s gaming platform.
These games will include titles based on the Valiant Hearts and Mighty Quest universes, as well as one set in the Assassin’s Creed world. The Assassin’s Creed game for Netflix is reportedly in early development, and when it launches, it will be available exclusively to Netflix subscribers on mobile. However, no further details have emerged since 2022, and we are still waiting for updates on its progress.

Details about this standalone multiplayer game remain limited, but it will be part of the Assassin’s Creed Infinity Hub, and franchise head Marc-Alexis Coté has confirmed that its codename is ‘Assassin’s Creed Invictus.’
