Gemini Introduces Notebooks for Enhanced Project Organization

Google’s Gemini is introducing a new feature called “notebooks,” designed to help you keep everything organized around specific topics while interacting with the AI chatbot. This feature allows you to gather files, previous conversations, and custom instructions into notebooks, which Gemini can reference for context during your chats.

Notebooks resemble the Projects feature from ChatGPT, launched in 2024, which also enables users to consolidate information on a particular subject in one location. Google describes notebooks as personal knowledge bases that can be utilized across its products, starting with Gemini. Additionally, Gemini’s notebooks will sync with Google’s NotebookLM AI research tool, ensuring that any sources you add in one app will be accessible in the other.

The rollout of Gemini’s notebooks begins this week for subscribers of Google’s AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus plans on the web. Mobile access and availability for free users are expected in the coming weeks.
