Get ready for a deeper dive into Final Fantasy 7 Revelation later this month!
We’ll get another glimpse of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation before the month wraps up. It will slightly edge out the new trailer for GTA 6, as the next installment in the Final Fantasy series is set to be showcased during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25.
Every year, the team behind Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards hosts a live event right before Gamescom, the major European gaming expo. Like other showcases led by Geoff Keighley, this event will feature a blend of fresh reveals and updates on familiar titles. While last year’s show highlighted games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is poised to be one of the standout features of this year’s Gamescom Opening Night Live.
In a recent post, Square Enix announced that game director Naoki Hamaguchi will be present to unveil Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. While the specifics of the reveal remain under wraps, there’s a lot for the developers to share following the game’s announcement at Summer Game Fest in June. Fans are eager for a first look at Cloud and his companions’ epic return to Midgar, along with a potential release date.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation isn’t the only title confirmed for Gamescom Opening Night Live. The expansion The Songs of the Past for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metro 2039, Silent Hill: Townfall, Aion 2, Cinder City, and Project Bonfire will also make an appearance. The lineup is already shaping up to be impressive, with more surprises likely in the coming weeks.
Gamescom Opening Night Live kicks off at 2 p.m. ET on August 25. The exact timing of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s segment during the showcase is still to be determined.
The final chapter of the remake trilogy will receive an in-depth trailer and is set for a 2027 release.
