Get Ready to Splurge: The Pokémon 30th Anniversary TCG Set Will Hit Your Wallet Hard

Pokémon enthusiasts anticipated that the 30th anniversary trading card set would be a sought-after collection, and now we have confirmation. The Pokémon Company has unveiled the complete lineup of Pokémon Trading Card Game products set to hit the shelves on September 16. This includes Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles, and a high-end Ultra Premium box. Many of these offerings will feature exclusive promo cards that are bound to attract collectors.

As fans are aware, the anniversary set boasts 30 distinct Pikachu cards along with six unique holofoil cards. These holofoil cards introduce a new rarity type known as “Future rare,” showcasing a platinum-like finish. The standout chase cards are Mew and Mewtwo, but the set also includes beloved characters like Eevee and its various evolutions, Ditto, Lucario, and the legendary Pokémon from Kanto.

In addition to the expected Elite Trainer Boxes and Bundle Boxes, the product range for the Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration Expansion is extensive.

While specific pricing details for the 30th Celebration expansion products haven’t been disclosed, they are likely to align with the prices of similar items in standard TCG sets. Although the main products are slated for a September 16 release, the complete rollout will be staggered throughout the remainder of 2026.

The new card type introduced for the 30th anniversary, called Future rare, features Pokémon illustrated with a chrome-like color scheme. These cards will have a distinct texture and will prominently display a large RGB Pikachu head on the right side. So far, the Future Rare treatment has been seen on Pikachu and Mewtwo, but the latest reveal showcased an additional Pikachu card featuring this new rarity.

Collectors will have the chance to gather all 30 Pikachu cards, each illustrated by a different artist.
