Get Ready to Test Your PC: Total War: Warhammer 40,000 Unveils Stunning Gameplay!
We finally got an in-depth look at gameplay from Total War: Warhammer 40,000, and it’s shaping up to be the epic revival that the real-time strategy series has been craving. However, those stunning visuals have me questioning whether my PC will be able to handle it.
Creative Assembly showcased more of the game at Bilibili World 2026, an event happening in Shanghai, China this weekend.
In the gameplay video, a narrator guides players through the fundamentals of a Total War: Warhammer 40,000 match. The game appears to follow the familiar Total War formula but places a stronger emphasis on terrain advantages and the vastness of its battles. After hinting at the numerous planets players can conquer, the action zooms in on a fierce clash between the Astra Militarum and Orks on a war-torn planet.
Despite the Astra Militarum being seemingly outgunned by the Orks in close combat, we see the player cleverly directing their forces to take cover behind a supply train and set up an ambush, forcing the Orks to cross a large river. Soon, chaos erupts as massive tanks and a Stompa join the fray. In a dramatic turn, the Astra Militarum player calls in a Lance Strike orbital bombardment to obliterate the Stompa and secure victory.
While the classic strategic elements of Total War remain intact, the demo also showcased the outrageous units and intense battles that fans expect from a game that embraces everything Warhammer 40,000 has to offer. Visually, it’s impressive, but with so many units and explosions on screen, I can’t help but worry that my aging PC might struggle. I guess I’ll have to wait for the official minimum and recommended specs before deciding if an upgrade is necessary.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000 still doesn’t have a release date, but it’s confirmed to launch on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X when it finally arrives. Maybe one of my consoles will handle it better than my PC?
Creative Assembly’s Total War franchise is truly going galactic.
