Get ready: Xbox’s upcoming Soulslike arrives sooner than expected!

Team Ninja unveiled its upcoming Soulslike title during the Xbox Games Showcase, and it’s a sequel to one of their recent successes. Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is set to launch in early 2027.

Fans can look forward to the signature intense and stylish action that Team Ninja is renowned for, as the trailer teases new abilities and epic boss encounters. The description hints that “players must master the evolved Chinese martial arts and conquer battlefields of the Three Kingdoms, which are overrun by monstrous demons, alongside legendary heroes who have shaped history.”

The original Wo Long debuted in 2023 and has attracted over 5 million players. It garnered positive reviews from both critics and gamers, with one review highlighting its “intricate combat system and an equally evocative setting,” making it a journey worth taking—even if it means spending a few extra hours on a challenging boss fight.

While Team Ninja is widely recognized for its Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, the studio has also made a name for itself in the Soulslike genre, having developed three Nioh titles and the upcoming Rise of the Ronin, in addition to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will be available in early 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and it will launch on day one for Xbox Game Pass.
