God of War Actor Suggests Sex Minigames May Return in Remakes: ‘I Think So’

Since the announcement of the remake for the original God of War trilogy, there’s been a lot of chatter about whether the PS5 versions of these PS2 classics will reintroduce some of the more controversial aspects for today’s gamers. A hot topic has been the sex minigames that involved players executing quick-time events during intimate scenes, which were already divisive back in the day and would likely stir even more debate now. Personally, I believe it would be a misstep for a series that has spent years focusing on a protagonist striving for redemption to start glossing over its past. Interestingly, T.C. Carson, the voice of Kratos, hinted that these scenes might still be part of the remake.

At Megacon Orlando last month, during a panel led by an outlet, Carson was asked about the potential return of the “intimate romance minigames.” While he didn’t provide a definitive answer, he seemed to have some insider knowledge.

“You know what, all you dudes, all you men…I think so,” Carson remarked.

So, could the God of War “intimate romance” minigames make a comeback in the remake trilogy? It seems Carson leans toward the idea!

When the panelist joked that this was “breaking news,” Carson quickly clarified that he wasn’t confirming anything outright, emphasizing that he said “I think so,” rather than giving a solid confirmation.

This remake marks Carson’s return to the role of Kratos for the first time since God of War: Ascension, the last game set in Greece before the series transitioned to Norse mythology with the 2018 reboot. When that shift occurred, Christopher Judge took over as the voice of Kratos, and it appears Sony is keeping that distinction by having Carson wield the Blades of Chaos once again for the remakes. Carson also lent his voice to God of War: Sons of Sparta, narrating the story of a younger Kratos during his training as a Spartan.
