God of War Composer Hints at Possible Return to the Franchise

God of War composer Bear McCreary has expressed openness to returning to the series, despite previously stating that his work on it felt “complete.” When asked about the possibility of coming back, he mentioned, “If there were an opportunity to expand upon it, I would be open to that.” With a new God of War TV series in development for Prime Video and the game franchise expected to continue, there may be a chance for McCreary to rejoin the project if invited. He takes pride in the music he created for the God of War games, noting their vastness and the enjoyment they bring to fans. Beyond this franchise, McCreary is always on the lookout for intriguing projects and collaborators, expressing a particular interest in working on independent or AA games. “I think there’s a lot of experimentation that happens there. And I love the medium. I’m putting it out there,” he stated. At 46, McCreary has received three Grammy nominations and is also recognized for his compositions in popular TV series like Outlander, The Walking Dead, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as films such as Happy Death Day, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
