Google’s AI note-taking app can fully transcribe meetings without needing an internet connection.
Google has introduced an experimental note-taking app that can transcribe meetings and audio files completely offline. This app, named Google AI Edge Foresight, is available for free and operates on macOS using the company’s on-device EmbeddingGemma 2 model.
Foresight functions similarly to other AI note-taking tools like Granola and Wispr Flow, summarizing your meetings while also providing a space for your own notes. You can jot down quick bullet points during discussions, and the app will convert them into well-organized notes based on the transcript.
In addition to transcribing meetings, Foresight features a built-in assistant that allows you to ask questions about what you’ve heard. You can also link local files to the app, which it can reference when responding to your inquiries. Google emphasizes that your files, meeting audio, and notes remain securely on your computer.
Currently, Google AI Edge Foresight is optimized exclusively for Macs with Apple Silicon, distinguishing itself in the expanding landscape of AI note-taking apps by functioning entirely on-device.
