Grab a Free Norse Roguelike with Diablo Elements on the Epic Games Store!

The latest free mystery game on the Epic Games Store has been unveiled. You can grab Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel for free until 11 a.m. EST on December 19.

After a stint in early access, Jotunnslayer officially launched this fall. This game merges roguelike elements with horde survival mechanics, drawing inspiration from Norse mythology. You’ll harness upgrades from the Norse gods to battle through relentless waves of foes in fast-paced combat. Each playable character boasts unique skills and weapons, promoting experimentation as you search for your perfect build.

Usually, we get a sneak peek at the free game a week in advance, but during the holiday season, Epic keeps things under wraps. The store features a festive image of a wrapped present, complete with a bow, instead of revealing the game.

In 2024, the Epic Games Store treated players to over a dozen free games in the two weeks leading up to the new year, including hits like Dredge, Control, and Sifu. With Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel available for just 24 hours, it’s likely Epic will stick to its holiday tradition of offering a new game each day for the next two weeks.

To claim your free game, simply log in to the Epic Games Store. The mystery games are available for 24 hours and reset daily at 11 a.m. EST, when the next surprise title will be announced.
