Grab the Detective Pikachu 4K Steelbook Edition for Just $20 on Amazon!
Pokemon enthusiasts can snag a fantastic deal on the Limited Edition Steelbook of Detective Pikachu at Amazon. Originally priced at $33, this collectible 4K Blu-ray edition is now available for just $20.49. This discount is likely to be short-lived, especially since this edition has sold out multiple times since its launch last April. The 2025 Steelbook Edition is also available at Gruv for $28 and Walmart for $31, but Amazon is the only retailer offering such a significant price cut. Detective Pikachu first hit Blu-ray in 2019, with Best Buy releasing an exclusive steelbook version at that time. The original steelbook is now hard to find outside of inflated listings on eBay and other marketplaces. The design of the 2025 Steelbook Edition draws inspiration from one of the promotional posters for the film’s theatrical release.
It’s also worth mentioning that standard editions of Detective Pikachu are often available at lower prices. Currently, the 4K Blu-ray edition is priced at $14.69 (down from $25), while the 1080p Blu-ray is just $8. Detective Pikachu played a pivotal role in reshaping the expectations for video game adaptations, setting a precedent for live-action interpretations of other beloved game franchises with similar visual styles. It stands as the fifth highest-grossing video game adaptation ever, trailing only behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie, A Minecraft Movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Warcraft.
For fans of Pokemon steelbooks, the Pokemon: The Movies 1-3 Steelbook Collection is back in stock at Gruv and Walmart for $25 (originally $40) and $33 at Amazon.
