The latest update notes for Granblue Fantasy: Relink, a stunning RPG that transformed a complex gacha game into an action-packed experience, were released on June 28, 2024. After a long 19-month silence that had many believing the game was done for, developer Cygames has announced a surprise expansion titled Endless Ragnarok, set to launch on July 9, 2026—almost exactly two years after the last patch.
Endless Ragnarok was unveiled during a recent Nintendo Direct showcase, with more details expected from Cygames later tonight. This DLC announcement coincides with the game’s debut on the Switch 2, following its original release on PC, PS4, and PS5. I personally logged 130 hours on PS5, and it quickly became one of my top games of 2024.
The reveal trailer for Endless Ragnarok showcases both new and returning characters from Granblue Fantasy: Relink, continuing the story from the main quest. It introduces several new playable heroes and appears to feature a fresh system for summoning past bosses to aid you in battle.
A newly launched page on the game’s website warns of Ragnalia, “powerful monsters who herald the end of times.” The DLC will bring new tiers of co-op quests, additional bosses, and a solo mode called the Conflux. Alongside the summoning feature, new “master traits” will enhance character abilities.
Most excitingly, the Switch 2 release will enable full crossplay across all platforms. If you already own Relink, you can grab Endless Ragnarok for $29.99, while the game and DLC bundle will be available for $59.99. Personally, I’m just thrilled to have another reason to take down dragons as Zeta, Narmaya, and Siegfried.
