GTA 5 Voice Actor Faces Frequent Swatting Incidents, Cops Recognize Him by Name
Actor Ned Luke, known for his role as Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online, has become a frequent target of swatting incidents. Recently, a clip surfaced online showing that he and one of the responding officers are on a first-name basis, highlighting just how often this has happened.
During a live stream of GTA Online with fellow voice actor Rob Wiethoff, Luke was swatted yet again. While he was playing on Twitch, two police officers arrived at his home after someone made a false report. One officer entered the room and exclaimed, “You’re being swatted again!” This incident occurred about 30 minutes into the stream, and after a brief, friendly exchange with the officers, Luke continued his broadcast for another hour and a half. This marks at least the eighth time since late 2023 that the 67-year-old actor has faced such disruptions while streaming, which likely explains the officers’ relaxed demeanor in the clip.
In November 2023, Luke was swatted on Thanksgiving, sharing that it was the sixth time he had experienced this due to his personal information being leaked online. Just a month later, on December 29, he was swatted again, with police asking him to step outside.
Fans are hoping that Luke will see a reduction in these alarming incidents. On December 27, he took to Instagram to announce that at least one individual involved in the swatting was facing federal charges and would be in court in January 2026. Luke’s post included a defiant message: “Fuck around and find out. Many more names discovered and provided.”
