GTA 6 Features Popular Musicians Like Bad Bunny as Radio Hosts
Grand Theft Auto 6 is gearing up to be one of the most monumental video game launches ever. It’s no surprise that Rockstar has enlisted a roster of well-known musicians to helm the radio stations in this expansive open-world title. The lineup includes big names like Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey, which is quite the surprise.
On October 8, coinciding with a new gameplay leak, Rockstar unveiled details about the radio stations and music that will feature in this highly anticipated sequel to GTA V. There’s a wealth of information about the stations and their musical offerings. Additionally, a comprehensive list of over 70 songs spotted through leaks and trailers has also been shared. Among the exciting announcements was the confirmation of several celebrity DJs for these stations.
According to reports, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen will be the voices behind Back Country Radio, an outlaw country station. Del Rey’s husband, Jeremy Dufrene, will also make an appearance in the game, voicing a character named Mud Dog Mike, described by Rockstar as “Back Country’s roving reporter, swamp meteorologist, and Delta’s not-so-secret lover.”
Del Rey expressed her excitement, saying, “One of the coolest things about [being in GTA 6] is the fact that the first time some of our family got to L.A., they actually knew the roads because of playing [GTA V]. On so many different levels, this is super special and a privilege. Can’t wait to get into the game and start playing.”
Puerto Rican artists Bad Bunny and RaiNao will host Cocoteo FM, a station dedicated to Latin music. RaiNao shared, “Cocoteo gets our vibe, our slang, our taste, our pride, our experiences, our traditions, and all our crazy antics. It feels incredibly special to lend my voice to GTA 6 and do it in the best way possible: having fun, embodying a character who’s like me, and putting our culture, our music, and our people in the spotlight.”
Pop sensation Robyn and model Alex Consani will take the reins of Flash FM, a station that first appeared in the original Vice City. Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya are set to host The Chamber 106.6, a heavy metal station featuring a Slayer track. Trick Daddy and Trina will bring the heat on Dirty South Classics, while Nigerian artist Burna Boy will co-host AfroBank FM with DJ Palms Trax.
This isn’t the first time notable musicians have lent their voices to GTA radio stations; Kenny Loggins and Iggy Pop have done so in previous titles. However, it seems Rockstar has truly gone all out this time, with these artists actively contributing to the music and atmosphere of their respective stations.
November 19 can’t come soon enough. I’m ready to park my car by the beach, tune into Flash FM, and soak in the vibes while watching the waves roll in.
