GTA 6 Leak Takes a Surprising Turn for Lucia’s Gambit

For a time, it looked like a disaster was brewing for Take-Two and Rockstar Games, with a potential leak of a playable version of Grand Theft Auto 6 just a month before its official launch. The leaker, known as Cyberleek, was pushing for a $30 million investment in a meme cryptocurrency, claiming it would grant access to an early development build of GTA 6. To entice investors, the leaker linked investment milestones to revealing footage of the game’s co-protagonist, Lucia Caminos, in various states of undress. As a result, viewers eagerly contributed to see the character’s digital nudity, but now many fans are pulling their funds back.

The investment milestones were all centered around Lucia: a couple million dollars would unlock footage of her in a bikini, while a few million more would reveal gameplay featuring her topless. To see Lucia fully nude, fans needed to raise $4 million in Cyberleek’s cryptocurrency. For $6 million, the promise was 4K gameplay clips of naked Lucia.

These milestones were quickly surpassed, igniting a frenzy among eager gamers on social media. Fans were sharing GIFs and videos of Lucia skydiving in the nude and posting cheeky comments about her appearance in countless posts. Since the leaks began in August, fans had been clamoring for such footage, making the unauthorized gameplay a significant event for those interested.

However, less than a day after reaching these heights, Cyberleek’s scheme collapsed. Before the chaos, the Cyberleek coin had a market cap of just under $1.7 million, which soared to a peak of $8.2 million during the trading frenzy. Cyberleek had already dumped their developer tokens earlier in the year, meaning they weren’t responsible for the subsequent 71% drop. While the leaker might have profited from transaction fees, the majority of the money leaving the market seems to be from outside investors.

Despite this mass withdrawal, Cyberleek is still attempting to lure GTA 6 fans with new milestones. These include gameplay clips featuring tank sequences, a private lap dance, and a beach massacre. The leaker quickly posted a new set of milestones with a broader range of tiers, but the ultimate goal remained the same: at $30 million, fans would supposedly receive a development build of the game. Given the current downturn, it seems GTA 6 fans are not interested.

“He’s already overplayed his hand with the Lucia gooners leak,” one Redditor commented.

Cyberleek may have thought that revealing footage of Lucia naked would attract desperate gamers, but they made a strategic blunder by offering their most enticing content at the lowest tiers. Between now and the game’s release, Rockstar could unveil new details like tank or jet gameplay, and the Netflix Extended Look has already given glimpses of a police shootout scene in GTA 6. The only elements likely to remain secret until after launch are the more risqué aspects, such as the nude encampment. Even that isn’t entirely new, as Rockstar has already shared screenshots of lap dances in GTA 6.

“The only people that would have invested in his stupid coin would have been horny high schoolers that don’t know how to manage money,” another Redditor remarked. “Now he messed that all up.”

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
