GTA 6 Rating Confirms Inclusion of Sexual Content
Grand Theft Auto 6 has officially received an M for Mature rating, which is no surprise given the series’ focus on criminal escapades. However, it appears players will encounter more than just heists and chaos; the game includes actual sex scenes that warrant a content warning.
Both PlayStation and Xbox have updated their store pages for GTA 6 across various regions, providing insight into the game’s more intense content. In addition to its Mature rating in the U.S., the game carries warnings for blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and drug and alcohol use.
These labels mirror those found on Grand Theft Auto 5’s store page, so they aren’t particularly shocking. However, players in New Zealand and Australia noticed a distinction: while both titles are rated R18+, GTA 5 mentions “sexual material,” whereas GTA 6 specifies “sex scenes,” suggesting a notable difference.
Cyberpunk 2077’s warning labels in New Zealand also reference “sex scenes.” In GTA 5, most of these scenes are played for laughs, while in Cyberpunk 2077, they often serve as significant narrative elements that deepen character relationships. The perspective from which these scenes are presented can also influence their classification, with first-person views making them feel more intimate.
While the nudist town is likely to deliver the humorous antics fans expect—think naked characters twerking and hillbillies making crude remarks—there’s potential for more serious interactions as players explore Jason’s relationship with Lucia. The wait won’t be long, as the release date of November 19 is fast approaching.
GTA 6 enthusiasts should prepare for an increase in gore and more intense, high-definition violence.
