GTA 6 Shines in Stunning Gameplay Showcase

After years of anticipation, countless rumors, trailers, and leaks, Rockstar Games has finally unveiled a substantial look at the highly awaited Grand Theft Auto 6, poised to be one of the most significant entertainment launches ever. The reveal took place on Netflix through a 26-minute Extended Look.

The full video has made its way to YouTube, though its availability is uncertain.

The gameplay kicks off with Jason and Lucia entering an apartment building in search of a character named Boobie for a pickup. At one point, Jason interacts with a dog, earning a pop-up angel icon, likely signifying a morality boost for his kind gesture.

As expected, the drug deal quickly spirals out of control, forcing Jason and Lucia to fight their way out with shotguns and pistols as police storm the building, taking down anyone in their path.

“Was that Menendez?” Lucia questions about one of the officers as they make their escape via an elevator. Jason reassures her they weren’t seen, and then the music kicks in, revealing the GTA 6 logo.

Following a montage of Vice City, we see Jason and Lucia preparing for a party. Jason checks the fridge while waiting for Lucia to get ready, creating a surprisingly sweet and quiet moment between the couple. When she finally appears, Jason quips, “Damn, worth the wait.”

Another montage showcases Vice City’s vibrant action, featuring encounters with quirky characters, Jason and Lucia battling foes with both guns and fists, and more. When we return to them, they arrive at the party a bit late, hand in hand, ready to meet Brian, who appears to be portrayed by the well-known character actor Stephen Root.

In a different scene, we catch Jason and Lucia in the act of robbing various locations, including a diner, reminiscent of gameplay that leaked back in 2022, but looking significantly more polished now.

Next, we see Jason and Lucia driving to meet a new contact. Lucia is understandably anxious, and her worries are confirmed when their contact, fresh from committing a crime, needs their help to evade the police. Jason grabs a rifle and opens fire on police vehicles and helicopters while Lucia navigates the getaway.

When asked if she’s a professional, she confidently replies, “Of course.” The trio then speeds through the sunny streets of Vice City.

“Did we pass the test?” Lucia asks. “You stayed alive,” the contact responds, handing them cash.

A new montage showcases the diverse activities available in Vice City, from riding scooters and scuba diving to racing, robbing small stores, visiting a strip club, shooting targets, and even encountering a livestreaming content creator.

We then see Lucia leap off a building and parachute down, before the player switches to Jason, who’s lounging on a couch in a nearby apartment, chatting and drinking with a friend.

The next scene shifts to Jason and Lucia, now dressed to impress, providing security for a wealthy young man at a party. This gives us a stunning view of Vice City at night, complete with sharp reflections and impressive lighting.

As they split up, Jason heads down the elevator, complimenting Lucia’s hand-to-hand combat skills after she mentions someone took her guns. This lack of firepower soon becomes an issue when, as expected in a GTA game, chaos erupts and armed individuals attack the party and building.

The combat appears more fluid and responsive than in previous GTA titles, reminiscent of Max Payne 3. At one point, Jason slows down time to land a few headshots.

Meanwhile, on another floor, Lucia manages to evade armed thugs and engages in a fight with an attacker in a stairwell. After taking a hard hit to the head and struggling for a moment, she fights back and seizes his weapon.

The gameplay video concludes with the announcement that this was all captured on a base PlayStation 5. And no, the game isn’t delayed; it’s still set to launch on November 19.
